The artists of INSTINCT create work directly attuned to the emotional and psychic landscapes that are the undercurrents of daily experience. They make work intuitively, in a call-and-response manner: mark and countermark, a burst of lightness to temper the shadows, a soft wash to nip at a hard edge. Here, life is processed in graphite, paint and pigment, on paper, panel and canvas.

Featuring Danielle Hacche
Accompanying our main gallery exhibition, “MIND FIELD” introduces a gallery newcomer. In her first solo exhibition at Bentley Gallery, newly represented artist Danielle Hacche presents her most recent body of mixed media works on paper. These compositions are informed by early 20th century Modernist art and architecture, contemporary cultural production, and a sophisticated sense of color aesthetics. The work in this exhibition strips away reference to representational form and provides abstracted designs which invoke familiarity, and provoke a longing for less cluttered, more simplistic and peaceful times and places.
